GBP/USD je ohranil položaj nad 1,3400, medtem ko se je cena srebra (XAG/USD) znižala proti 38,00 dolarjem, saj so se zmanjšale možnosti za znižanje obrestnih mer s strani Fed. Evro je oslabel pod 1,1600. Trgi so se umirili pred govorom predsednika Feda Jeroma Powella na simpoziju v Jackson Holeu, kjer se pričakujejo smernice glede prihodnjih potez ameriške centralne banke.

Japonski jen se kljub nekoliko višji inflaciji težko privabi kupce zaradi negotovosti glede dviga obrestnih mer s strani Banke Japonske. Evro/funt je oslabel na približno 0,8650, medtem ko avstralski dolar ohranja položaj blizu dvomesečnega dna, saj se je ameriški dolar okrepil ob popuščanju pričakovanj glede obrestnih mer ameriške centralne banke.

Cena zlata se je umirila, vendar bi jo lahko dogajanje po simpoziju v Jackson Holeu preizkusilo. Indikator, ki je pravilno napovedal vrh XRP pri 3,35 USD, zdaj nakazuje nakupno priložnost pri 2,82 USD. Podatki CME kažejo na spremembo pričakovanj glede znižanja obrestnih mer s strani Fed.

Predsednik ameriške centralne banke (Federal Reserve) Jerome Powell je opozoril na tveganja inflacije in šibkost trga dela, kar je odprlo možnost znižanja obrestnih mer v ZDA že septembra. Christine Lagarde je izjavila, da trgovinski sporazum z Donaldom Trumpom ni odpravil globalne negotovosti, saj so dajatve "rahlo višje", kot je junija napovedala Evropska centralna banka (ECB). Španski indeks Ibex 35 je dosegel nov maksimum po decembru 2007.

Ameriški predsednik Donald Trump je že drugič v dveh dneh izrazil željo, da bi na čelo Federal Reserve imenoval ministra za finance Scotta Bessenta, ki pa naj bi to funkcijo zavračal. Hkrati je Trump ponovno kritiziral trenutnega predsednika Federal Reserve, Jeromea Powella, in celo pozval k njegovi odstavitvi, pri čemer je izrazil dvom o njegovem duševnem zdravju.
